Sustainability
As jewelers, we believe in the power of reshaping matter. In addition to being the principle of our creations, this premise represents the heart and essence of our promise to sustainability. Planet Earth sustains us, inspires us, and makes it possible for us to create and express ourselves. These are among the many reasons why we must endeavor to care for it. Our premise came to being in 2017, by giving a second life to the materials we use. As of then, we no longer make our jewels from traditionally mined silver, but from seemingly pure silver reclaimed from X-rays by means of chemical and enzymatic processes.
By reusing this material, we prevent tons of polluting medical waste from ending up in landfills or incinerators, where they can release heavy metals such as metallic silver, mercury, and lead into the environment.
Why reuse X-rays?
Old X-rays contain silver salts in their photosensitive emulsion. When these plates are discarded without proper treatment, each ton can release up to 10 kg of silver into the environment—a metal that, while precious, is also highly polluting if not properly managed.
The impact of reusing silver:
• We save up to 95% of energy consumption by using recycled silver instead of newly mined silver.
• For every kilogram of recycled silver, we prevent the emission of approximately 51 kg of CO that would be generated through traditional mining.
• A single X-ray can contaminate up to 1,000 liters of water if not properly processed.
Recovering silver from X-rays not only reduces the environmental impact of the jewelry industry but also transforms medical waste into an object of emotional and symbolic value. This is our way of closing the cycle—honoring what already exists and transforming it into something new. Raising awareness and giving materials a second life is not just a philosophy—it’s an urgent act.
This same philosophy drives us to care for what already exists: we offer a cleaning and maintenance service so that jewelry can last forever and be passed down from generation to generation. Through our Bespoke Remake program, we transform forgotten or symbolic pieces—like those gifted to you as a baby or for your first communion—into new creations with renewed meaning.
Additionally, with the exception of our natural stones, all of our raw materials and labor are sourced locally, which reduces our carbon footprint and supports local artisanal work. We believe in the value of what endures, transforms, and is
shared.
